Throughout my career, I have challenged myself to be at the forefront of where the industry is heading. Whether it involved evaluating design practices, using green building rating systems, becoming an expert in simulation and modeling, or learning software development, I continue to push myself and my colleagues to advance our practice. While challenging, this is absolutely necessary to continue to deliver buildings that meet the constantly evolving needs of the occupants, businesses, and communities that our buildings serve.
James McNeill joined Affiliated Engineers with experience in mechanical engineering, building energy simulation, and computational fluid dynamics. While at AEI he has contributed to a broad range of projects, including the study of phase change materials for load reduction, room air flow and thermal comfort evaluation for health and safety, design assist analysis of HVAC systems, and the development of custom HVAC models for heat recovery systems.
James currently leads AEI’s Custom Development group, where he imagines, develops, and deploys software solutions to enhance AEI’s engineering practices. He applies his engineering knowledge and passion for computational analysis to better integrate data analytics into the building design workflow.
