Technical contributor to the NIH Laboratory and Life Science Laboratory design guidelines for over 10 years.
Managing and leading the Rockville, Maryland, office, Krishnan Ramesh has been with Affiliated Engineers for over 20 years. He has developed extensive experience in the planning, engineering and sustainable design of bio-medical research laboratories, life sciences labs, healthcare facilities, and related central utility systems. His leadership and design responsibilities include planning and conceptual engineering, systems analysis, sustainable systems engineering, specialized controls solutions, technical peer reviews and project management. Krishnan has been a technical contributor to the NIH Laboratory and Life Science Laboratory design guidelines for over 10 years. He serves as a sub-committee chair for the ANSI Z9.14 Standard for Testing and Performance Verification of BSL-3 Laboratory Ventilation Systems.
Krishnan’s design experience includes research, testing and diagnostic laboratories, and BSL 2, 3, 3(E) facilities. He has planned, designed and successfully implemented over 20 million sf of federal laboratory space for a variety of institutions including the National Institutes of Health, United States Army Corps of Engineers, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and the Department of Homeland Security. He has recently worked on campus planning efforts for NIST at Boulder, Colorado, and Gaithersburg, Maryland.
