Building Performance Project Manager

A vital and dynamic team leader, Megan (Gunther) Hardman was instrumental in establishing AEI San Francisco’s Building Performance Practice — extending a core firm service to the West Coast while building our national footprint. As department facilitator, Megan collaborates and inspires passion within her team to guide and assist clients in achieving holistic, tangible goals around carbon reduction, energy, water, and cost savings.

She also serves as a project manager and mechanical engineer with extensive expertise in the analysis, design, and engineering of complex mechanical systems supporting science and technology, healthcare, and higher education spaces. Providing thought leadership through building performance simulation and unparalleled knowledge in the areas of sustainable design, energy efficiency, and LEED certification criteria, Megan continuously delivers successful project outcomes featuring innovative energy and water conservation measures.

Coinciding with these efforts, Megan is a passionate advocate and dedicated leader for AEI’s task force providing guidance, assistance, and encouragement to project teams designing in support of climate action and reduced environmental impact.

Through her work with the task force, Megan identified and sought AEI partnership with the Building Decarbonization Coalition, now serving as our firm’s national liaison. She remains active in the local chapters of IBPSA, ASHRAE, I2SL, and ACE Mentor Program of America while presenting at national industry conferences such as the New Buildings Institute’s Getting to Zero Forum.
