Mike Ziegler

Project Engineer

I find personal satisfaction in solving complex challenges and delivering sustainable, high-performing designs that improve the communities we serve. At AEI, I strive to contribute to these impactful projects while growing as a technical leader and trusted collaborator.”

Mike joined AEI in 2011, specializing in mechanical design for higher education projects in the state of Illinois. As a University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign alumnus, he had the opportunity early in his career to give back to his alma mater by playing a key role in the University’s Oak Street Chiller Plant Energy Performance Contract project. His deep understanding of the university’s design standards and operations continues to be a valuable asset as the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign remains a longtime client. Since joining AEI, Mike has progressed from mechanical engineer to project engineer and now serves as a prominent leader and mentor within the Champaign office. His broad experience spans higher education, energy & utilities, healthcare, commercial, and federal markets, enabling the office to deliver well-rounded, client-focused engineering solutions. With Mike’s guidance, the Champaign office will continue to advance AEI’s vision and mission.
