Scott Foster

Principal

I love my job, so going to work every day is a privilege. Working with over 50 different AEI clients on projects totaling almost 8 million square feet where people are engaged in ground-breaking research is very rewarding.”

Being an engineer and project manager is a balancing act. I rely on knowledge from past projects, but I am always open to new and better ideas. That means I ask a lot of questions. I encourage my project teams to ask questions too as client-centered solutions grow from each project’s unique circumstances. Not settling for cookie-cutter designs takes flexibility and an entrepreneurial spirit. That is where AEI thrives, and I am lucky to be a part of it.

Scott Foster became a principal at AEI in recognition of his ongoing contributions to building strong client and partner relationships. He joined AEI in 2007 at the inception of the AEI Chicago office and has provided leadership in shaping its direction and success.

Scott’s professional discipline expertise is mechanical engineering, which he has applied to numerous technically complex and large-scale projects throughout the Chicagoland area and the greater Midwest. Scott excels in creating innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient designs, and he demonstrates this in such projects as the LEED Gold Panduit Corporate Headquarters, the Tinkham Veale University Center at Case Western Reserve University (LEED Gold target), and the science building expansion at the College of Lake County (LEED Platinum target).
