Together We Engineer: Honoring AEI’s Impactful Women Engineers

International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), held each year on June 23, is a global celebration of the achievements of women in engineering and a call to recognize their ongoing contributions to shaping the world around us. Launched in the United Kingdom in 2014 by the Women’s Engineering Society, the day has since grown into an international movement highlighting the need for greater visibility, opportunity, and support for women in the profession. This year’s theme, Together We Engineer, highlights the collaborative spirit at the heart of engineering, and at AEI, that message feels especially true.

At AEI, engineering has always been a team sport. Across disciplines and project types, our teams work side by side to solve some of the most complex building challenges in the country. The women on our team bring insight, technical leadership, and creativity to every phase of the process, whether leading design for a hospital tower, managing project delivery for a research lab, or mentoring the next generation of engineers. Their voices and expertise help shape our work and strengthen our impact.

Today, we celebrate the contributions of women at AEI not just for what they do, but for how they do it: with care, rigor, and a commitment to building something bigger than themselves. Supporting their continued growth is part of our everyday work, from creating opportunities for professional development to fostering authentic connections across offices and disciplines. Because “Together We Engineer” isn’t just a theme, it’s how we move forward together.
