James Falconer
Principal
“From as early as my college internship, I’ve been energized by the collaborative nature of the mechanical engineer’s role on a design team. Working with owners, architects, and other engineers, the mechanical engineer has an essential influence on the design, energy efficiency, and sustainability of a building.”
James Falconer graduated from the University of Cardiff (Wales, UK) in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, working thereafter in London for several years. At this time, he managed several high-profile international projects that took him to Russia, Turkey, India, and the Middle East. Having developed an affinity for working abroad, James relocated to the United States in 2009, starting in New York before settling in San Francisco.
James joined AEI in 2015 as a project manager in the San Francisco office, applying his passion and expertise for high-performance design to unique and challenging projects. Today, James leads the mechanical department. With all projects, James promotes the use of complex analytics to solve challenges, evaluate design options for our clients, and seek out strategic ways to further develop our skills and consulting services. James also brings strategic experience in advancing project delivery methods.
