Two AEI Projects Named Finalists for ENR Southwest’s Project of the Year
Engineering News-Record (ENR) Southwest has honored two AEI projects in its 2025 Regional Best Projects awards program and named both as finalists for Project of the Year—a recognition that underscores our team’s impact on the region’s most significant and sustainable developments.
Mountain Line Downtown Connection Center (DCC)
Awards:
The new DCC in Flagstaff, Arizona, creates a vibrant multimodal hub that brings together Mountain Line, Amtrak, and Greyhound services with civic space, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and roadway improvements. AEI delivered full mechanical, electrical, piping/plumbing design, and building performance analysis to advance the DCC’s zero net energy goals. The all-electric facility features onsite photovoltaics, radiant floors, chilled beams, and advanced lighting controls, along with scalable electrical infrastructure to support Mountain Line’s transition to a zero-emissions bus fleet.
Arizona State University (ASU) Wilson Hall
Awards:
ASU’s new 178,000-square-foot, five-story academic building at the Tempe campus replaces the original Wilson Hall with modern learning environments designed to foster student success. The facility includes 19 state-of-the-art classrooms, computer labs, seminar spaces, and a dedicated suite for accessibility and inclusive learning services. AEI provided MEP, information technology, sustainable design, and LEED consulting, helping the project to achieve LEED Gold certification and supporting ASU’s commitment to high-performance, future-ready facilities.
