United Therapeutic’s Project Lightyear Wins the 2024 ENR National, Best of the Best, Manufacturing Project
Adding another industry accolade to United Therapeutics Corporation's Project Lightyear, it has recently won the 2024 ENR Best of the Best Manufacturing Project Award. This 55,000-square-foot current good manufacturing practices warehouse and logistics center is the first of its kind to achieve net-zero, carbon-zero status, a remarkable feat for a facility requiring precise climate control for pharmaceutical manufacturing. Project Lightyear features all-electric mechanical systems, a rooftop photovoltaic array, a microgrid with two Tesla Megapacks for energy storage, and a geothermal heating and cooling system, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring resiliency.
