Don Hagen
Director of Business Development - Industrial and Advanced Manufacturing
“My interest in our client's work and collaborating on meeting their challenges with engineering solutions has afforded me an 'on-the-job' education that has been fun and rewarding. I love collaborative cultures of shared responsibility and accountability to achieve success.”
As an individual with nontechnical training and skills working in a highly technical field, Don admires his colleagues’ education, experience, and achievements, compelling him to achieve equivalent value on the business end. Over the years, his curiosity allowed him to learn from people he has worked with – both as clients and co-workers – by participating in project development, collaborating to find solutions to complex program, equipment, and system challenges, and engaging in on-site work during and after construction.
Don’s career involves many years of business development for design-build firms, working in advanced technology and industrial facilities that research, develop, and manufacture chemical, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor products. These include labs, pilot plants, and assembly and production facilities around the world, with notable clients such as Abbott, Pfizer, Medtronic, MilliporeSigma, and Tesla. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Washington, a master’s degree in business from the University of Hawaii, and a certificate in Leadership and Innovation from MIT.
