Director of Business Development - Chicago
“It’s not what I do, it’s how I do it.” I developed this mantra long ago when I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do in life-I was only sure I wanted to do it well.”
As an individual with nontechnical training and skill, working in a highly technical field – Don admires the education, experience, and achievement of his colleagues, and is compelled to achieve equivalent value on the business end. Over the years, his curiosity allowed him to learn from people he’s worked with – both as clients and co-workers – by participating in project development; collaborating to find solutions to complex programs, equipment and systems challenges; and engaging in on-site work both during and after construction.
Don’s career includes many years of business development for design-build firms, working in advanced technology and industrial facilities that research, develop, and manufacture chemical, pharmaceutical and semiconductor products, and more. These include labs, pilot plants, and assembly and production facilities around the world, with notable clients including Abbott, Pfizer, Medtronic, Millipore Sigma, and Tesla. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Washington, Master’s in Business from the University of Hawaii, and a certificate in Leadership and Innovation from MIT.
