George Howe joined AEI's Chapel Hill office in 2004 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He began his career in the Energy and Utilities (E&U) group, focusing on hydraulic and thermal stress analysis modeling before expanding into master planning, design, and construction administration for large-scale utility plant and distribution projects nationwide. Over the years, George has played a key role in designing utility plant and distribution systems for campuses across the country and serving as an engineering analyst on complex utility master planning projects.

With two decades of experience, George has become a trusted leader, recognized for his technical expertise and collaborative spirit. His work has been instrumental in AEI's success, including his pivotal contributions to award-winning projects. George remains committed to mentoring engineers within the E&U group and strengthening relationships with long-standing clients such as the University of North Carolina, the University of Virginia, the University of Rochester, the University of Kentucky, and Northwestern University. His ability to develop innovative, comprehensive solutions continues to make him an invaluable asset to AEI and its clients.

During his time in North Carolina, George met his wonderful wife and had two daughters, who amaze him every day.
