John Duffy is a principal at AEI and has served as project manager on a variety of state-of-the-art buildings and central utility plant projects for research and development, higher education, healthcare, industrial, and local and national government clients.

He has completed large and complex designs for district heating and cooling plants, building energy management systems, and process instrumentation and control systems. John has experience in load calculations, hydraulic analysis, pipe stress analysis, and energy conservation payback analysis.

John also has provided oversight on a variety of advanced laboratory facilities with programs for chemistry, biology, math and physics, marine biology, psychology, chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering. These facilities encompassed spaces for BSL-2 and BSL-3 labs, animal holding, cleanrooms, electron microscopes, imaging equipment, laser labs, and hazardous production labs.

He has extensive experience in the evaluation and design of mechanical, electrical, and piping systems from the conceptual planning phase to the operational stage, including detailed technical analysis, client communication, and design coordination within multi-discipline design teams.
