Tyler Dykes

To me, being an engineer is all about problem-solving. I am grateful for the opportunity to work on different problems, technical or not, every day for clients who are improving our world. The bonus is that the solutions to many of these problems are large-scale, highly recognizable buildings that will be around long after I’m gone.”

Joining the AEI Gainesville office as a summer intern in 2007, Tyler Dykes balanced part-time work with his pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Florida. With extensive experience in construction administration and engineering consultancy, Tyler excels in developing precise, coordinated, and accurate documentation for expansive science and technology facilities.

At the forefront of AEI's expanding high-performance design practice, Tyler plays a pivotal role in advancing institutional and higher educational projects to achieve LEED Platinum status. His commitment transcends project success, encompassing mentorship and establishing client relationships rooted in trust, respect, and outstanding service. Tyler actively mentors emerging leaders and nurtures key industry partnerships, solidifying AEI as a dependable resource for new clientele.

Beyond his engineering pursuits, Tyler is a passionate outdoors enthusiast, finding joy in activities such as running, backpacking, skiing, kayaking, and fishing. Together with his wife, Tyler instills a love for outdoor pursuits in his children.
