Differing views strengthen and propel innovation forward.
At AEI, we are a mix of minds, talents, and experiences, each adding value to the whole. Together, ideas spark, connections expand, and outcomes become stronger. Collaboration isn’t just how we work − it is how we thrive. We are better together.
AEI’s GROW Program: Greater Recognition of We
Leveraging strategic partnerships, AEI cultivates new opportunities and fortifies existing relationships, crafting educational roadmaps that fuel ongoing growth and development. It’s all part of our GROW program: Greater Recognition of We.
To GROW is natural. In our lives, we seek it, expect it, and chase it. But growth doesn’t just happen. It takes intention. As individuals, we strive to expand our knowledge, strengthen our leadership, and deepen our connections. At AEI, we aim to GROW in recognition and impact, driven by innovation, guided by thought leadership, and grounded in a commitment to bettering the communities we serve.
Through GROW, individuals learn from the experiences and worldviews of others, opening their minds to new and different perspectives that inspire and broaden AEI’s vision of improving the world. By recognizing global advancements and embracing impartiality and acceptance, we set ourselves on a path toward becoming better individuals in a better organization.

GROW: An Action Plan
AEI's commitment to GROW includes three pillars:
- Equal opportunity recruiting
- Responsible interactions
- Expanding industry partnerships
We believe that a varied workforce leads to the best consulting engineering outcomes for our clients and fosters valuable learning environments for our employees.
AEI is dedicated to establishing a supportive environment that promotes fairness across all professional experiences and equips staff with the resources they need to succeed in their careers.

Equal Opportunity Recruiting
AEI recruits a broad range of candidates from educational institutions and professional organizations nationwide whose passion and commitments align with our vision for a better world. These include, but are not limited to, state universities, private colleges, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and professional programs, such as the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), the Association for the International Exchange of Students in Economics and Commerce (AIESEC), and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). To ensure we gain the broadest perspectives, we have implemented several initiatives, including expanding our employee interview teams.

Responsible Interactions
AEI’s GROW program represents our commitment to responsible interactions and collaborations within and outside the company. As part of this effort, all AEI employees receive training in fundamental areas of professional accountability, including:
- Preventing harassment and discrimination
- Fostering teamwork and respect
As leaders in our industry, we proudly invest in the future of the field by mentoring youth through the ACE Mentor Program of America. Our sense of responsibility also reaches beyond borders through support for Engineers Without Borders and its many chapters. This includes collaborating with the University of Wisconsin-Madison to enhance energy security in Puerto Rico through solar panels and microgrids, helping to increase community resilience island-wide.

Expanding Industry Partnerships
AEI’s partnerships with small and locally-owned business entities across numerous projects allow us to integrate our national experience with regional and local insight. These collaborations expand our vision for delivering work, propelling collective creativity, and elevating engineering outcomes.
We also work closely with many suppliers to support our internal office operations, creating space for new partnerships while ensuring accountability to local small businesses.
