Engineers Without Borders Delivers Microgrid for Children’s Home in Puerto Rico
AEI is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated Engineers Without Borders project to provide solar power at a local children’s home in Puerto Rico — with participation by AEI mentors Alberto Cordero, Amanda Pustis, and Dan Williams — has come to fruition.
With the goal of delivering energy security for Hogar Albergue para Niños Jesús de Nazaret, a local children’s shelter and transitory home providing safety and support to victims of abuse, this collaborative effort establishes long-term resiliency through state-of-the-art microgrid equipment and technology.

“Not only was an innovative design implemented, but the collaborative spirit of all the professionals and students was inspiring and an example to follow.”
