Offering complete MEP consulting services, AEI's Baltimore office was founded on expertise in complex utility and energy infrastructure system and strategies, including generation and distribution of chilled water, steam, and power, as well as peak shaving and cogeneration. Our professionals are active members of the Johns Hopkins University's Climate Change Executive Committee and are involved in the "greening" of the United States Capitol.

The Baltimore area provides diverse business opportunities represented by healthcare, higher ed, and federal government clients. Our area is also home to leading research innovators supporting bio-defense, space science, and national security activities. And of course, Baltimore also lays claim to such innovators as Spike Jonze, John Waters, David Byrne, Frank Zappa, and Edgar Allen Poe.

Of AEI's two offices in the State of Maryland, we're more Old Line than Beltway, twenty miles north of Baltimore, in Hunt Valley (Affiliated Engineers, Metro DC, is in Rockville). As the name might imply, we're in the middle of horse country, and we look forward to the weeklong activities that surround the Preakness every spring. We're a short drive from the urban night life of Baltimore's Inner Harbor and Fells Point, the music, dance, and theater offerings of the Meyerhoff, Hippodrome, and Centerstage theaters, and one of the world's preeminent marine studies and exhibition destinations, the National Aquarium.

Baltimore is decidedly a sports town-with our beloved Orioles, Ravens, and Terps-and we're a hotbed for lacrosse (Maryland colleges hold a total of 12 NCAA national titles since 1971). With pleasantly mild winters, Maryland offers year-round outdoor activities ranging from fishing, boating or sailing on the Chesapeake Bay (you can't miss the abundance of Maryland crabs to be had), to camping, hiking, and mountain biking in the parks and forests of the Blue Ridge Mountains, to summer beach getaways to Ocean City.
