Portland
“It's satisfying to further many longstanding relationships by adding an office in Portland. Our staff love the project opportunities and quality of life, and our practice around the world benefits from immersion in a market that continually pushes the envelope for what can be achieved in the built environment.”
In the shadow of Portland's iconic White Stag sign, AEI's office in Old Town makes our Stumptown relationship official. We're expanding our local presence - which began with projects at OHSU, Legacy Healthcare, and nearby Oregon State University - with support to health care, R&D, and utility infrastructure clients, as well as higher ed and mission critical.
Our historical landmark (1895) home overlooks the Willamette River and Tom McCall Waterfront Park, home to the annual Oregon Brewers Festival, and is a short walk from the heart of downtown and the Pearl District. 50 food carts appear within five minutes of our front door, double that if you walk five minutes more. And we're a block away from a stop on Portland's acclaimed MAX light rail system.
Often hailed as one of the more affordable west coast cities, Portland offers a tolerant, diverse culture that includes residential neighborhoods of traditional early 20th century homes, 84 craft breweries, corporate campuses for Intel, Nike, and Adidas, the dynamic Mississippi and Alberta arts districts, and a booming creative class drawn by a robust marketing and advertising trade (reportedly 100 people move to Portland daily). A mecca for outdoor activities, Portland offers easy access to kayaking, skiing, and especially biking (traditional, fixed gear, cargo bikes, or other). We sit down (and stand up) for Timbers soccer.
