Robin Graves joined AEI as an intern, swiftly ascending the ranks through her dedication and expertise. Initially focusing on high-profile healthcare projects, she now leads the firm's most intricate science and technology ventures, particularly complex lab and research facilities. Renowned for her proficiency in HVAC systems and steadfast commitment to sustainability, Robin currently oversees AEI's largest mechanical department. Adeptly coordinating client concerns with numerous design partners, Robin ensures engineering solutions align with project objectives and timing. Her impressive portfolio showcases innovative designs ranging from chilled beams to underfloor air distribution, natural ventilation, and atrium smoke control systems.
Beyond her technical acumen, Robin plays a pivotal role in talent development, pioneering a training initiative for recruits in collaboration with her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison). Her engagement in organizational development extends to leading project tours and interactive training sessions, enhancing AEI's internship program. Robin also shares her expertise as an educator, teaching extension courses for adults at UW-Madison and delivering insightful presentations to various student organizations, such as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Society of Women Engineers, and Women in Science and Engineering.
Recognized for her invaluable contributions to the Promega Kornberg Center, Robin received the 2024 ASHRAE First Place Technology Award. Outside her professional realm, Robin finds fulfillment in volunteering, hiking, gardening, and serving on her local library's community board.
