Building Enclosure Commissioning
As part of AEI’s Commissioning Practice, Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx) improves occupant comfort, energy efficiency, and long-term durability of a building’s exterior systems. Focusing on thermal continuity and air and water tightness goals – AEI provides reliable, accurate, and verifiable measures to confirm projects meet quality requirements. This includes design, material submittal, mockup/installation, and energy performance reviews. AEI's BECx offering is best paired with construction phase testing – compliant with Air Leakage: ASTM E783, ASTM E1186, ASTM E779 or Water Penetration: ASTM E1105, AAMA 501.2, Flood Testing.
Throughout the project life cycle – from pre-design, design, pre-construction, construction, to operations and maintenance, through conservation – our detailed process helps identify and manage risk, confirming each stage of every project adheres to owner-defined objectives and standards. Our BECx services often are provided in supplement to MEP commissioning efforts as part of a well-rounded approach to facility efficiency and operation. This methodology not only enhances the overall process but improves occupant happiness, reduces service calls, provides long-term facility protection, and improves project success.
