Electrical

AEI designs electrical systems for critical facilities that provide efficient, reliable, closely coordinated, and high-quality power distribution while often incorporating renewable and distributed energy sources or microgrids. With a focus on supporting facility maintenance and operations, our redundant power system design strategies sustain critical functions during utility outages, optimizing alternate power capacity while managing process and environmental system loads, ensuring life safety functionality and protection of property. Fault current, arc flash, and selective coordination studies guide the development of distribution network arrangements to deliver consistent power for vital systems and equipment. Our electrical system designs include normal and backup power distribution, protective relaying, distributed metering, lighting controls, high efficiency illumination, and networked fire alarm systems. Aided by BIM and electrical system modeling tools, we analyze challenges and implement strategies that deliver resilient large scale, campus, and community power engineering solutions.
